Inspection & Servicing Requirements
Austlift Type 2 and Type 3 retractable fall-arrest devices must be inspected at intervals not exceeding 6 months by a competent person, in accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4:2025 and the product instructions. Harsh, corrosive or high-use environments may require more frequent inspection.
Cable SRLs are also subject to Austlift manufacturer servicing requirements, including brake and shim replacement at the specified service interval. Webbing SRLs do not require scheduled brake and shim replacement unless servicing is required.
Internal servicing and replacement of internal components must only be carried out by an Austlift authorised service agent. Internal replacement parts are supplied only to authorised service agents who have been trained and approved to service Austlift retractable fall-arrest devices.
Any SRL that has arrested a fall, failed an inspection or is not operating correctly must be removed from service.
